Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par is considered to be one of the best films in Bollywood that beautifully highlights the struggles of children suffering from dyslexic, autism and psychiatric disability face in society. While the film went on to win the hearts of millions, as well as several awards, cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograg Singh – an ex-cricketer turned actor, has now called it ‘wahiyat’ (worthless). Yograj Singh calls Taare Zameen Par a ‘wahiyat’ film

During a chat with Samdish Bhatia on Unfiltered by Samdish, Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh stated that he believes a child is primarily shaped by his father’s influence. The retired cricketer said,  “Baccha woh he banega jo Baap kahega (A child will be moulded the way his father wants).”

During the show, when Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par got mentioned, Yograj Singh dismissed the film. The cricketer-turned-actor said, “Badi hi wahiyat film hai (It was very disgusting)”, before adding,, “Main aisi picture nahi dekhta (I don’t watch such films).”

Released in 2007, Taare Zameen Par was written by Amole Gupte and directed by Aamir Khan. The drama – which focused on the struggles an artistically gifted 8-year-old boy Ishaan faces owing to dyslexic, starred Khan, Darsheel Safary, Tanay Chheda, Vipin Sharma and Tisca Chopra. The film went on to win several awards, including 3 National Film Awards – Best Film on Family Welfare, Best Lyrics (Prasoon Joshi for Maa) and Best Male Playback Singer (Shankar Mahadevan for Maa).
